We’d like to introduce you to our newest team member, Paula Darling.
In November, Paula joined the SureID team as our new Sales Director, and her background is an excellent fit. She launched her career in identity and biometrics in 2001, when she started providing customers with professional systems for ID card printing, visitor management, and physical access control. She’s also helped businesses and organizations find solutions for video surveillance and background screening. At SureID, Paula will focus on biometrics.
“It’s important for me to be able to offer customers purposeful solutions that help them solve business problems,” Paula says. That passion for new business and pursuit of growth brought Paula to SureID.
Paula has always had a natural curiosity for business processes, which she uses to help large organizations become more efficient, save money, and improve the way they do business. She powers revenue growth and business collaboration with a team-based, consensus-driven approach. Her customers see her not as a salesperson vending a product line, but as a vital business partner who strategizes with them and keeps their business interests top-of-mind. In the past, she’s helped major partners like Boeing and Microsoft standardize their identity systems and create secure solutions at global scale.
More than ever, organizations and individuals alike are looking for ways to quickly and efficiently use biometrics to verify identity and clarify an employee’s background and history. Paula appreciates that SureID offers an innovative solution for capturing fingerprints. “It’s fast, secure, professional, and a huge step up from the old manual methods of capturing biometric data,” she says. “I believe SureID is positioned for huge growth and success, and I am looking forward to being a part of this great team!”
Away from the office, Paula stays busy with her two teenage sons, age 14 and 17. She’s also a huge animal lover and animal rights advocate. “I’d throw myself in front of a bus to save a squirrel,” she says. Although she luckily hasn’t been run down by the crosstown express, she’s had to bring her car to a screeching halt more than once to keep an animal out of harm’s way.
Paula’s dogs, Chewy and Woody, also remind her every day to enjoy the simple things in life.
And like so many Portlandians, she finds joy in being outdoors: kayaking, remodeling houses, and going for long rides on her Harley. One day, she hopes to open a shelter for abused or neglected dogs. Until then, we’re happy she’s with us.
