Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) Updates & Support

Monday, June 15, 2020 at 2:44 PM PST

In early June, Sterling Identity began the gradual process of resuming fingerprint capture services. As many states have begun re-opening businesses, we have seen increased demand for fingerprinting services, particularly for licensing and employment purposes. Beginning June 17, you can visit sterlingidentity.com/locations to find your nearest participating fingerprinting location.

Here’s a few tips to make the fingerprinting process safer:

  • Arrive for fingerprint capture services wearing a face mask that covers the nose and mouth.
  • Present your identity documents to the fingerprinting technician by holding up the document for them to view or placing the document on a counter. Avoid handing your identity document to the technician.
  • Use hand sanitizer immediately AFTER capturing fingerprints. Using hand sanitizer before or during fingerprinting can make it difficult to capture quality fingerprints.

As we continue to navigate our way through the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Sterling is taking all necessary precautions to protect the health and safety of our employees, clients, partners, and the communities in which we live and work. With this goal in mind, fingerprinting services at Sterling Identity Network locations are temporarily paused. We took this step to support social distancing guidelines intended to minimize the length and severity of the Covid-19 pandemic. We will resume fingerprinting services as soon as the Covid-19 situation allows.

For many of you, fingerprinting is one of the last things you want to think about. But if you’re one of the thousands of Americans who need to be fingerprinted for work, adoption, travel, or any other reason, this may be a necessary task. We recommend reaching out to the agency or employer that requested your fingerprints for guidance on the best course of action. Sterling Identity continues to offer a variety of on-site fingerprinting options for businesses.

We thank you for your understanding and support in these unprecedented times.
